This Privacy Policy describes how SPAN ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the SPAN mobile app and related services (together, the "Service"). By using SPAN you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account: name, email, phone number, password, profile photo, optional bio.
- Provider profile (optional): services offered, working hours, portfolio images, experience and education history.
- Identity verification (optional): a photo of a government-issued ID and a selfie, reviewed manually by our team to confirm your identity.
- Bookings & jobs: service details, dates, locations, prices, notes.
- Messages & posts: text, images, and voice notes you send through chat or publish to your feed.
- Payments: SPAN does not process payments. Clients and providers arrange payment directly between themselves (cash or any method the provider accepts). We do not collect or store any payment card information.
- Support & feedback: anything you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Device & app data: device model, OS version, app version, crash logs.
- Usage data: pages viewed, actions taken, timestamps.
- Approximate location: used to show nearby providers. You can disable this in your device settings.
- Push notification token: so we can deliver booking updates and messages.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
- Match clients with nearby providers and facilitate bookings.
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and chat notifications.
- Verify identity when you submit an ID and selfie.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited information only when necessary:
- Other users: your public profile, posts, reviews, and messages are visible to the users you interact with. Your saved addresses are never shown to other users.
- Service providers: Apple and Google push notification services, and cloud hosting and storage providers — strictly to deliver the Service.
- Legal: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
- Business transfer: if SPAN is merged or acquired, your data may transfer under the same protections.
4. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & correction: edit your profile anytime in the app.
- Delete your account: Settings → Delete Account. Your profile, posts, and messages will be permanently removed within 30 days.
- Block & report: block any user from their profile, or report abusive content.
- Push notifications: toggle off in Settings or your device's notification settings.
- Location: revoke location permission in iOS/Android settings at any time.
- Marketing email: SPAN does not send marketing email.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
6. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls to protect your data. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong password and report suspicious activity to us.
7. Children's Privacy
SPAN is not intended for anyone under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International Transfers
SPAN operates globally. Your data may be processed in countries whose laws differ from yours. We use reasonable safeguards when transferring personal data across borders.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
